Stonyceros are incredibly durable creatures, though their armor plates make them remarkably heavy. Their wide feet keep them from sinking into the shifting sands of their desert home though they must be careful not to bog down in mud, hence their fear of water. It's not fully understood how they remain hydrated in the deep desert, though it has been noted that their armor is surprisingly effective at gathering dew, which is directed to their mouth via small grooves in their surface via capillary action.
