It was a snowy day, so I knew I had to be out shooting.
While I was walking through Chinatown, I came across this scene. The opposing red brick buildings provided symmetry. The snow blowing off the roof and the shoes hanging on the wire made me want to wait for the right subject to enter my frame, fulfilling the movie playing in my head. After waiting for about half an hour, I found the subject I wanted. Coming down the road behind me, I quickly lined myself up and took the shot.
In one breath, “The Way Home” came to be.
