Digging the light

At a depth of 50cm of sand compacted over 50 days, sea turtle hatchlings dig their way to the surface orientated by the sound of the crashing waves (sound on!). Once at the surface, their instinct guides them towards the brighter horizon, where waves are splashing onto the beach and the stars and the moon are reflected in the ocean. That is why artificial beach lights can have tremendous impacts in the survival of these endangered species.
