A mother kangaroo holding her breathless burnt and suffocated baby, stops running away as opposed to other panicked kangaroos, and takes a moment to let go of hope while taking in all the pain, "freezing in a burning forest". This artwork engages with ideas of anguish, hopelessness and terror, but in the same time it combines elements of acknowledgement and sudden inner peace, though the latter can be very difficult to observe when everything externally points otherwise.
