Fluid control of axis, focus, time, & position is continuously shifting to accommodate the complex challenge of manual photography within New York City’s playground of light, Times Square. This image was lit by the waves of phosphorus, neon, and the energy-efficient light-emitting diodes (LED). The resulting photograph creates a textural mapping, a lightwave based blueprint of space & time. The location subtly reveals itself through hints of landmarks, morphed logos or typeface, and elements of human abstraction.
