An ode to Eckart Tolle's theory on how the body stores trauma, my own experiences with the painbody were instrumental in my healing process. Some might call them triggers, or getting activated, or the painbody but the meaning is all the same: past events that resurface into current situations. We maintain power when we can recognize these feelings, honor them, and let them go. Letting them consume or run the show indefinitely always leads to more pain. The awareness to see the painbody is the real work -- this piece represents the beginning of that process for myself.
