Mavis, a beacon

Although she'd been working in the accounting department for a dozen years, the last half of the century had seen that role shift to being one of "AI technician" rather than the illustrious "number cruncher" or "bean counter". Mavis was damned good at what she did - her ability going far beyond her job requirements. They had no idea.
