Melancholy is an attempt to represent a shattered subject in dealing with the gigantic volume of the symbolic system. An overwhelming amount of letters and symbols that seek to shape and categorize the subject into predetermined models; a kind of distortion of reality that establishes its own preconceived truth.
Melancholia is the inverted definition of reality by a schizophrenic subject: the single viewpoint of the neutral observer has been changed into the refracted gaze of the inflamed subject. It is as though the audience is experiencing an abstract journey through the screen to the subject’s mind.
