Rebirth Editions I: "Earth's Shadow"
After months of shooting the full moon for practice, I was finally ready for my first attempt at a lunar eclipse. I had dreamed of seeing a lunar eclipse since I was a child, as I found the concept of the moon moving into the Earth's shadow and turning red to be a fascinating phenomenon. As an adult, I was even more excited to witness and memorialize this historic event.
This lunar eclipse was the longest partial lunar eclipse across a range of 1229 years. The last time a partial lunar eclipse was this long was February 18, 1440. We won't see another partial lunar eclipse this long until February 8, 2669.
