At the end of the Mesozoic, the region of the Karakorams was characterized by great structural changes and the Karakorams emerged as the result of intensive geological recent upheavals, hence making it the youngest and most evolving mountain range of the world. There is still frequent seismic activity in the region making it vulnerable and dangerous at the same time. This photograph depicts the enormity and acuteness of this glorious mountain range.
