Comics and cinema have twisted the alien myth into superheroes to make them more approachable and familiar. Creatures from another planet who become 'super-humans'. We can totally get behind Lois Lane falling for Superman because he looks human. Maybe it's all evolution, and our next step is superhero strengths and 'mutant' capabilities. Who knows what comes after that? Maybe those same 'aliens' we imagine are just us, waaay down the evolutionary line.
