This morning began by pulling myself out of bed well before the sun rose at about 4:30 AM. My knee was stiff and swollen from tearing my meniscus while hiking the day before. Injured knee and all, I knew the adventure had to resume. Hobbling to my car, I decided to drive out to some mudflats I had found earlier in the week in Death Valley National Park. Many people assume Death Valley is an arid wasteland. However, it's actually a beautiful tapestry with pastel colors and intricate designs. When I finally got to the flats I walked around for two hours to find some mud tiles that I really liked.
