Charlie Chimppoint was there when the Berlin Wall fell on Nov 9th 1989. It was one of the most memorable moments of his life. Just 58 days earlier he had arrived at the East German city of Leipzig to revive their struggling chimp population in the Zoo's ape encolusre "Pongoland". When he discovered that amongst other things Bananas were in short supply, he escaped by scaling an unused electricity pole and dangling across power cables. Having overheard a conversation at the Zoo about some local delicacy called "Berliner", he was determined to make his way to the paradise that was named after a jelly doughnut.
