The Celastrus Yunnanensis is an extremely scarce, large plant and can be found in most mountains. It blooms in early spring. It has thick, wedge shaped leaves, which are usually emerald. It also grows tiny flowers, which can be yellow, dark orange, blue and brown. These plants grow in small groups, but it's easy, even without experience, to control and maintain their growth. They can be used as a cooking ingredient, similar to herbs. As a defense mechanism the Celastrus Yunnanensis grows tiny thorns. They rely on animal pollination to reproduce. Once pollinated, they grow fairly large, inedible fruits.
