Morning Swamp

A balmy summer morning. It was close to New Years and my brother in law was staying with us. I asked if he wanted to come out with me, he was keen. The alarms went off at 4am and we ventured off 40km SE of town. This swamp can get really slippery if it's had any rain recently but we hadn't so it made the 1km walk in to it a lot easier. The worst thing about this morning was the mosquitoes! They were buzzing around non stop and I found it hard to actually shoot. Every time I got my hands out to adjust settings I was swamped with them. Lucky for us I remembered I had some repellant in my camera bag, a life saver!
