Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin (1869-1923) was a cybernetically enhanced mystic and inventor who became advisor to the Nicholas II, the last emperor of Russia.
Commonly credited with inventing modern computing and cybernetics, Rasputin began turning himself into a cyborg in his late teens.
By 1916 he was more machine than man, and it is believed that this led to him surviving multiple assassination attempts, including being poisoned, shot, stabbed and then thrown into the Malaya Nevka River.
However, he never recovered from the rust damage sustained in the river, and died of complications in 1923.
