At 18, American short-track speedskater Maame Biney was one of the youngest members to compete for Team USA and the 2018 Winter Olympics Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. When Biney swept the 500m short track races at the Winter Olympic trials that December, she became the first African-American woman to qualify for a U.S. speedskating Olympic team.
