Foodmasku wears an upside-down apple with the word 福 (Fú) meaning "fortune" or "good luck" on his mouth, held up by skewers and twine. It is tradition to place this character upside-down for Lunar New Year to invite luck, because the word "upside-down" sounds like "arrive" in Mandarin. He has two blossom ends of apples, cut into flower shapes, as glasses and two slices on his forehead in the shape of bunny ears. Shot in front of a mustard yellow background while wearing a yellow sweater.
Minted to commemorate the start of the Year of the Rabbit, January 22nd, 2023.
