It is a common phenomenon, in Afro cosmology that there is life after death. African religions are centered on a bond of continuity between the dead and the living. The dead ones would rise to being the ancestors who also see to the well-being of the people they left behind. Masquerades are good example of the dead returning to guide, care and sometimes judge the living. This has enabled the continuity of the relationship between the dead and the living through festivals, rituals, and art.
