i started this song in the fall of 2021 after a fight with a family member. i felt so misunderstood and frustrated by how childish and inconsequential the fight was - on my way home i wrote the first lyric “you said some things you never meant that you thought you did.” as time passed, the fight that started with my family member shifted to one between me and myself. i was so disappointed at how much energy i let the entire situation take from me - the song became as much about a fight with myself as it is about a fight with someone else. in that moment i was certain that my relationships with my family member & myself would forever be deeply altered. but nothing actually changed - my wou...View all
