Washington always surprises.
In a state that already contains mountain ranges, temperate forests, islands, glaciers, and rainforests -- there exists a vast expanse of high desert plains across the central and eastern regions of the state. These plains, which are called the Scablands, are filled with WILD geology. Consider this quote from my favorite author, Graham Hancock:
“All across the Pacific Northwest is a landscape that has been utterly scarred and devastated by gigantic flood that took place 12,800 years ago, it’s left its mark everywhere."
