Temperance

Temperance depicts an androgynous angel of sorts. The angel is holding cups in each hand with water flowing from one to the other. One of the angel's feet remains firm and dry upon the soil, and the other submerged in the water before them. This is a portrayal of balance. Neither masculine nor feminine, not in land or in water. One can make many distinctions about what encompasses harmony- the material and the spiritual or the conscious and unconscious. Either way, one aspect is flowing freely into the other, mixing and melding without boundaries.
