This piece is a tribute to a female artist who influenced the Art Nouveau movement: Élisabeth Sonrel. Élisabeth's work is iconic for the Art Nouveau style. Born in France, she trained in art from an early age as the daughter of an artist. Her work in posters and decorative panels was sponsored by the same printer as Alphonse Mucha and both featured idyllic scenes of beautiful women framed by delicate, ornate botanicals.
