Shah Abbas the Great or Shah Abbas the Great was the fifth emperor of ancient Iran from the Safavid dynasty and the most famous ruler of this dynasty. He was the son and successor of Shah Mohammad Khodabandeh, who ruled Iran for more than 41 solar years from 996 AH until his death. Shah Abbas was interested in architecture, music, painting, and poetry.
