A Myrmekite is an inter-growth of Quartz and Plagioclase Feldspar, which was formed by solid solution, commonly caused by contact with hydrothermal fluids.
The photo shows a Myrmekite found in a Granite thin- section under a petrographic microscope with x20 magnification and crossed polarized light. I found this Myrmekite during the countless hours at the petrographic microscope for a Mineralogy Class (Hardest class of the Geology major by far).
