Our visible universe has nearly 200 billion galaxies. The Drake Equation when fed with the latest astronomical data indicates that there may be as many as 756 communicating civilizations within our own galaxy. Changing the parameters of the Drake Equation, to correspond to the data for the visible universe, yields as many as 113,400 billion probable communicating civilizations.
