This is worked up from a photo of a childrens playground designed by Mary Mitchell in the 1960s who was also part of the adventure playground movement.The playground and slide is where I would be sent as a boy to 'go and play' outside the block of flats.
It's a long winding slide that Mary has set with reclaimed cobblestones and bricks forming a hill.The ascent to slide would be like climbing a landscape.
I've pressed the slide up against the rows of the council housing windows and balconies. This would be the view seen from the road - the economic preservation of working people in blocks of flats and maisonettes
