Citizen Glitch

GIF Animation | 825 × 1200 Context: As a reference to Andy Warhol’s series of Mao screen prints, I chose to screen print a random individual of the new Chinese “white collar” working class. As the next step, I took the physical screen printed art and gave it a digital remix, by adding layers and fragments generated in the screen production process. I also distorted the portrait by slicing the image in the eye area and placed a display of random 0’s and 1’s in the gap.
