Initially, he was attributed with damaging a car parked at a home near the edge of the swamp. The news story on the creature prompted others to come forward claiming to have encountered the beast, those some of those were proven to be hoaxes. Regardless, the Lizardman has become a bit of a tourist attraction in the area and is a great addition to Southern folklore.
