Somewhere between a Dwell(R) photoshoot gone wrong and an absurdist Ikea(R) app, For Scale calls attention to designers’ reliance on prefabricated objects to communicate scale. It is a game in which users populate a scene with typical items used to give a sense of scale in architectural graphics. Items range from couch cushions to laptops to walking figures. The twist is that all items have an unexpected behavior when added to the scene; some are attracted to other objects, while others wonder aimlessly around the space.
