Boruca Mask #1

The Boruca are an Indigenous Tribe Native to Southern Central Costa Rica in the Tallamanca Mountain Ranges. They are famous for terrifying Spanish Conquistadors in 1500AD with their hand carved Masks. Referred to as "Diablos de la jungala" they drove the Invaders away from their territory and to this day celebrate the event with great pride and celebration every year on December 30th.
This is my hand drawn rendition of a Mask reference used in the actual "Dance of the Devils" Ceremony.
