As an illegal process, it is grounds for liquidation. If your mechanic was in a tight spot, they could sell you out for a bounty. The procedure starts with the mechanic extracting any sensor data you wouldn’t want subpoenaed, then cleaning it enough to provide an adequate alibi, or else scrubbing it entirely.
