One of the best experiences of visiting Havana is seeing the streets packed with those iconic, classic cars. These classics which were repaired and maintained over many decades, is an example of the Cuban’s proud determination and resilience to survive in a country with such limited resources.
Here, however, as the young boy stares out at one of these cars, I couldn’t help but wonder if he will continue in this cycle or if there is hope for a future filled with new opportunities.
Witnessing these small moments like the one I captured here, carried a bittersweet feeling, as here more than anywhere else, does the country’s past coexist simultaneously with the uncertainty of it’s future.
