 Wild West is a photo series documenting scenes on the edge of society deep within the American Southwest. The sun bleached town and desolate land plays toward the cowboy culture that originally settled these hard to find places.

This combination of Environmental Portraiture and American Topographics brings the viewer through a story that mirrors the sense of loneliness one can feel wandering through the barren landscape. The warm colors of the desert are highlighted by the grainy aesthetic feel of the chosen film. Nostalgia is evoked, pulling at memories of American Western films and the idea of adventure associated with this region.

The endlessly winding road of the Southwest led me further into the heart of this rugged landscape. Roads cut through this impassable canyon like a knife through butter. Giving people a glimpse into the long journey that would take nights to reach on foot. Roads are the lifeline of the voyages of the deserted lands.
