Looking off into the distance from Brooklyn across the water into the city I was seeing less and less of it. Between the snowfall and the density of the weather clouding my vision I was not able to see the endless city that usually serves as a backdrop. The feeling felt tranquil for a moment. The city lights that remained illuminated what they could into the horizon. A remaining dilapidated pier covered in snow, a black distraught chain link fence next to it and these peaceful pieces of snow drifting in the air all coming together to create a sense of peace.
