After Bill Murray was inducted into the Irish American Hall of Fame, he decided to grab a nightcap at the Reserve “Library” Bar at the Thompson Chicago hotel. The bar was about to close when the bartender noticed a man behind the bar mixing drinks.
“Even from 20 feet away, it was quite obvious Bill Murray had liberated the bar. He said, ‘I didn’t see anybody so I assumed it was an honor bar.’ I was happy to keep the bar open as long as he wanted. I wanted to see what would happen.”
