At the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2011, fans were treated to a modern-day Cinderella story. Bill Murray and D.A. Points won the coveted Pro-Am Title. D.A. jarred a 100-yard gap wedge for eagle on the 14th hole, one of the most difficult Par 5’s on the PGA Tour. Then he holed out a 30-foot putt on the next, cementing the win.
Bill reminisced, “We were up by three strokes and it was all over at that point. I’m walking down the fairway on 17 and I was so excited I couldn’t speak. I didn’t know how to express my excitement. Then I saw an ice cream truck. I went over and started throwing ice cream bars up, backward, over my head into the gallery. We pretty much emptied the truck out.”
