The Big One... this wave by Garrett McNamara didn’t get much media attention at the time, I never submitted it to the XXL Awards and it was never officially measured. Even so when asked about the biggest waves ever ridden in Nazaré, I always put this one on the short list.
Besides this photo, there’s no other media record of the wave, I got lucky to get the shot.
