Limbs now rigid, muscles tense,
Life departed, no more defense,
The body's form, now set in stone,
A shell, a vessel, left alone.
But once, this body breathed and moved,
With hopes and dreams, with much to prove,
Now stilled by death, by fate's decree,
A reminder of our mortality.
