The plaintiffs alleged that the defendants violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act by failing to provide proper disclosure and authorization before obtaining consumer background reports on technicans and took adverse employment actions based on those reports without providing workers copies of the reports and notice of their rights. DISH Networks settled separately from Sterling Infosystems, which provided the reports (see separate entry for Sterling).
