This is an artwork made from a series of original figurative ink drawings that I digitised, intervened with and then inverted. The symbolism of the extrovert hiding the true person underneath - the "introvert" is something that a lot of women relate to. How much pressure is on the female to portray a thing of the glamorous and vivacious external, whilst hiding the intellectual and sensitive introvert underneath? The etymology of both words "introvert" and "extrovert" come from the Latin word "vertere" meaning to turn, which I think in itself is very revealing. Maybe no-one is extrovert or introvert. Maybe all we ever do is turn from one to the other and back again, over and over.
