This artwork is incredibly meaningful to me as it represents my personal journey with my eyesight. When I visited my eye doctor, he told me that my optic nerves looked like swiss cheese due to Axenfeld-Rieger Syndrome and Glaucoma. This was a very difficult realization to face, but I wanted to create a piece of art that captures the experience.
In the artwork, you can see an eye laying on the ground with what's called "bean potting" on the optic nerve, which represents the physical manifestation of Glaucoma. The eye symbolizes my own experience with these conditions and the challenges they have brought into my life.
