Divine Incarnation

"Divine Incarnation" is a celebration of the power and divinity in Black woman. Through this piece, I hope to encourage viewers to reexamine their assumptions about who is worthy of divinity and power, and to recognize the beauty and resilience of Black women and their bodies. The halo of light above the baby’s head represents the divine power that exists within all black women, regardless of the societal forces that seek to undermine it. I am shining a light on the sacredness of black motherhood, which has often been undervalued and even punished in our society.
