Decades in the Making (Mauna Loa)

After 39 years the largest active Volcano on the planet erupts! Creating the most beautiful views any Human has ever seen. The last eruption happened in 1984. This was long overdue but history would only last 11 days total. Fortunately I was there everyday! Chasing Lava is a very deep connection. This particular Eruption Happened overnight and hit mainstream Media within minutes. Live cameras from the Largest Mountain on earth (Mauna Kea) captures midnight glow from a distance. This image was taken by Helicopter up above the Volcano looking directly at Mauna Kea. The exact location reaches freezing temps which made my hands numb while taking this image.
