Melting Stone is an ongoing meditation on time, memory and lose. Located on the beach near my childhood home, I have taken a photograph every year, as I noticed the sand stone slowly eroding, to document its passing and ever changing form. As a child, this monument served as a meeting place for friends and family, a canvas to carve our names or simply a place to come and sit.
The double exposure is meant to give the feeling of movement, vibration and life. Even though it is an inanimate object, I feel many of us have connections to places or objects such as this(past or present), allowing us to be transported to another time.
