I never wanted anything more than to fit inside your head

I disappear with time, under pressure and each touch. Works from my series "Color, Balance" are built up from digital remnants such as color layers, skin imperfections and adjustment masks taken from edited images meant for advertisements often in the beauty industry. These elements act as an underpainting in my work as I add subtle layers of digital paint and push pixels to blend the figure’s remnants into the background. I use color as a spatial feature, shifting away the boundary of the body to further blur lines between abstraction and figuration. By Travis LeRoy Southworth (@travisleroy), 2023.
