Found in various parts of Africa, the Panther Mantis is a formidable hunter of the insect world and an aggressive one at that. They spend most of their time hugging close on small sticks or bark until prey arrives!
Mantis truly fascinate me. There's around 2400 species, some look like flowers, some species look like twigs. Some actively hunt whilst others are masters of stealth and will wait until its prey is almost on top of it, turning their head a full 180 degrees locating its next meal using those large compound eyes!
This image is a stack of 5 to get all that detail in the mantis face!
