The Stranger 1 (detail)

This is a detail taken from a digital painting that I consider to be one of the best works I have done in the past 40 years. It is unapologetic in its strength and content, both of which revel in its simplicity. I simply could not have created this work during any other phase of my career; I did not have the skill or sufficient maturity to pull it off. The creation of this work has led me to develop the beginnings of a series based on the same concept.
