Divine protection refers to the safety of the soul, making sure that nothing may harm it or obstruct its divine completion. Numerous religions have spoken about it as a divine gesture of protection. There were times in my life when I believed that a guardian angel or other protective force was keeping me safe or assisting me in avoiding harm. It felt amazing, and I jumped headfirst into adventures with great confidence, but eventually I had to learn the hard way—through many broken bones and broken promises—that such entities tended to take their days off duty.
