Majangella moultoni - The Moss Mantis, is one of the most impressive Praying Mantis you will ever see. In this photo, the Mantis waits on a lichen covered stick for its unsuspecting prey to walk..or fly past. Studying this Mantis also revealed it was a ferocious hunter and would sometimes track and chase its prey, as opposed to sitting still. However, when your camouflage is this good, you'd be a fool to let it go to waste. This a stacked shot, meaning multiple images at varying focal points were taken and stacked together to reveal the intricate details of not just the Mantis, but also the twig of lichen it was hanging upside down on.
